Out of Stock Checker FAQs
Just what is involved?
Out of Stock Checks will be a regular on-going weekly assignment.
As an Out Of Stock Checker you will need to visit your allocated Coles Supermarket between 3pm and 8pm and return the results on-line the same day. You will need to visit a different day each week, so over a seven week period we expect you will visit the store on seven different days.
What happens at the Supermarket?
You will need to get Out Of Stock figures for both regular priced and special priced items for three categories of goods; Grocery, Dairy/Frozen and Meat. This provides six totals that you then report back to CBS.
How long will it take?
It should take you no more than one hour to complete.
Will I need any special training?
We will provide Out Of Stock checkers with access to an on-line induction course, which will contain detailed instructions and program training.
How much work will I get?
Out Of Stock Checks will be an ongoing weekly assignment - you will conduct an Out Of Stock Check at the same supermarket on a weekly basis unless you advise us otherwise.
How is work allocated?
Out of Stock Checks will be allocated based on your location and availability. We are currently taking registrations for the ongoing assignment of weekly Out Of Stock Checker assignments. Register now to nominate the stores you would like to be considered for.
Will I need special equipment?
You will need regular internet access to get the results back to us same day. We will provide you all the on-line resources you will need and you will need to print out some basic on-line forms to take with you. You will also receive two Handheld Tally Counters to you to complete your assignment. A fully refundable $10 fee will be deducted from your first two Out Of Stock Checkers payments as a security deposit for each of your Handheld Tally Counters.
What is the pay?
You will be paid per completed Check . The more locations you look after, the more you will make! It's a regular on-going assignment, and we will try to allocate assignments around what works best for you. Note that no travel allowance will be provided.
How will I be paid?
CBS Out Of Stock Checkers will be paid electronically on a monthly basis. You will need to provide us with your bank account details so electronic payment can be made.
Is my personal information safe?
If you have any concerns about supplying us with your bank account information, please contact your bank for advice.
Do I have to supply an ABN number or Tax Declaration Form?
Out Of Stock Checkers are classified as 'suppliers' undertaking a 'private recreational pursuit'. This is not a full-time position. However, once the threshold of four shops per week is exceeded, Checkers will be required to register for an ABN (if one is not already held). CBS will assist with the process of ABN registration as much as possible. Therefore, CBS does not issue an annual statement of earnings or group certificate will be provided at the end of the financial year. CBS recommends that you consult your tax professional or financial adviser for information regarding your individual tax requirements.
How do I register?
Simply click on the 'Register' button below. If you are selected for this program you will be emailed details on the induction program and a full set of terms and conditions.
I can't find my local Coles Supermarket on the Registration page.
Select a suburb close to you from the list, stores in your area will then be displayed.
Can I still be a CBS Mystery Shopper?
Yes you can! However, you will not be able to accept Mystery Shopping jobs for any Coles Supermarket locations you visit as an Out Of Stock Checker. You will still be able to take any other Mystery Shopping assignments that are available.
